We’ve created some pretty special things since starting Noosa Vibe House, but few have moved us like our collaboration with Ocean Heroes, a charity that empowers kids on the autism spectrum through free surf sessions.
From the moment we came across Ocean Heroes, their purpose and passion resonated strongly with us. As parents of a neurodivergent kid, we understand the sensory challenges, anxiety and uncertainty that the beach can bring – and just how powerful it can be for kids to overcome those hurdles in a safe, supportive environment. To make the ocean feel accessible for them - and show them these experiences can be theirs too - is a mission we couldn’t be more passionate about.

So when Ocean Heroes shared plans to expand into Queensland, we jumped at the chance to help them establish a presence here in Noosa. It felt like the perfect fit – their inclusive mission and love for the ocean aligned beautifully with Noosa’s surf culture and community spirit. Thanks to the support of Noosa Council and local businesses and families, that first event has grown into a series – with more awareness, more volunteers, and more smiling faces in the lineup each time. Watching so many kids catch their first wave is something we’ll never forget, and seeing Ocean Heroes honoured with the Culture Award at the Noosa World Surfing Reserve Community Awards was a proud, special moment for everyone involved.

With the events now thriving in Noosa, and parents and kids beyond stoked with their experiences, we wanted to take things a step further and give families a way to hold onto that feeling beyond the beach. So we created a special collab tee, to be sold exclusively at the Queensland events. We’ve always loved collaborations, but this one was especially close to our hearts. The designs are a colourful celebration of the happiness, pride and freedom the kids feel in the surf - and the joy their families experience watching on from the sand. This truly is merch with meaning - not only holding a special memory, but serving as a reminder that anything is possible.
Thanks to the generosity of our supplier network, we were able to keep costs to a minimum, ensuring more funds flow back into Ocean Heroes to support even more incredible experiences. We’re so proud to stand behind this amazing organisation and the impact they’re having in our community. It’s a privilege to help more kids experience the ocean and we’re so excited for the future of Ocean Heroes as they continue to expand and lift up communities in such a meaningful way.
