When WA-based powerhouse Gage Roads Brew Co. reached out about working together on a collab, we were all in. One of the most impressive independent breweries in Australia, they’ve increasingly been making waves over here on the East Coast, and we’d already built a solid relationship with the crew - not to mention a healthy appreciation for a cold Single Fin on a balmy Noosa afternoon.
The idea: create a limited-edition range that brought together the essence of both brands - and the two iconic coasts we call home - in a way that felt premium, authentic and uniquely local. The Noosa Festival of Surfing provided the perfect opportunity to drop the collab, with Gage sponsoring the beach bar and Noosa Vibe House on board to design and produce the official festival merch.
We worked with longtime design collaborator Joel Hammonds to create a custom illustration that pulled elements from both brands. On our side: the Noosa headland, tropical florals, and the laid-back NVH tone. On theirs: the iconic seagull, legendary Troopy, bold Gage colours, and a frothy “YEWWW” on the number plate. The result was a playful but polished design that celebrated surf culture, good energy and great beer - not just a logo mash-up, but a genuinely thoughtful collaboration.
With a focus on premium production, we ran the collection on the AS Colour Heavy Tee in two colourways, complemented by caps and totes all produced to perfection by our good friends at Machine Screenprinters. The response at the festival was incredible - people connected with the design instantly, loving not only the overall vibe but appreciating all the little details and brand references in the mix.
We love a good collab and this one definitely hit the sweet spot. Can’t wait to see where this partnership takes us next!
